Listed as having "Scratch and dent" but more like a small crack, worse than blurry pictures suggested. Also should not have been listed as "Open Box" considering damage. However, still a decent value, packaged well, delivered on time.

  • The punch my Geddy Lee Jazz bass needed

I've played jazz basses for years, recently picking up a late 90s CIJ Geddy Lee Jazz. This bass is based on a 1972 Jazz. The bridge pickup was not working, so I set out to find a good set of pickups. I tried Seymore Duncan Quarter Pounders, a Mexican Standard, and a Fender Custom Shop 60s model not produced any more. By far I liked the Fender Pure Vintage 74s the best. These have a vintage sound, not too hot, with a fuller low end than the 60's custom shop, or my stock pickups in my 2011 am standard jazz (a killer jazz sound). The midrange was very punchy, not too thin, but not fat or thick enough to get lost in the mix. The top end had a bite that lends itself well to a dirt pedal to get some texture. I'm not a huge fan of the bridge pickup soloed on a 70's model jazz, it's too ...

  • Fender Pure Vintage 74 Jazz Bass pickups

These are fantastic pickups. With loads of "bark and bite". They give a really positive attack, with a solid bottom end. I love them. This is the third set I've bought to fit onto three of my custom shop Jazz Bass guitars.

  • 74 Jazz Pickups

I think these are some of the best pickups fender makes! They are inexpensive and sound great highs midrange and low end. Super punchy! Great upgrade! If you want true vintage tone these are the one to get. I’m on my second set I like them so much.

  • Outstanding

These pickups sound awesome and are a great replica of the early to mid-70s Jazz Bass pickups. They’re alive, tight bottom, clear mids, nice highs. Aggressive. I highly recommend if you’re looking for that 70s J bass sound.
