    ASSEMBLED BY TWILIGHT

NICE BLEND OF 50s 60s SSL5 pickups, famous in their own right. Voicing is inspiring, pick guard fits multiple strat types. I love the live sound thru my fender tube amp with a bit of delay. Even better is the digital recording prowess of this product. Clean sounds a 10. Crank up the SSL5 Neck pickup and fly into Pink Floyd leads or middle pickup CS69 Hendrix Heaven. The fat 50s neck pickup sweet clear tracks. I have two of these. Wiring and pots, all first rate. Thanks Twilight. Last photo shows the start of the 1985 restoration. This month a like new 2011 neck was added (shown). The wood grain, resonance and tone justified the upscale pick guard.

  • Not quite "Custom Shop", but still excellent.

These are good quality pickguards but if, like me, you're looking to re-create that "custom shop" look, be aware that these not only don't have the relicing (which is obvious) but also have a much darker and more saturated color. I Imagine Fender uses these same pickguards on their Custom Shops but also does something to significantly fade the color along with the relic job. They're still great though, and if you're handy you'll probably be able to get the same look with a chemical wash and some sandpaper. I still recommend this pickguard, it's high quality, feels and looks great. Just something to be aware of.

  • Worth the few extra dollars.

A little pricey, but for authenticity, good looks and proper fit you should get this one anyway. Also know that the authenticity means you'll need all oval head screws to accommodate the countersunk holes for the pickups and selector switch. They're easy to find on line.

  • Superrior craftsmanship on the genuine parts and installation to the pickguard assembly.

This has tricked out my MIM Strat just as I had envisioned and produces the tone I was after. It was delivered in a rapid manner and as I had researched this particular set up I had found another assembler of this pickup assembly and they were priced twice as much as this one.

  • Texas Special Loaded Strat Pickguard

Great value. Fender custom shop pickups are well worth the money and produce outstanding sound. Installation was a breeze, simply solder two wires to the out put jack and that's it. My 2009 Squire now has a sound very close to the Jimmy Vaughn signature strat I played the other day at Sam Ash store. Try it you will be amazed. BTW: I am over 65 and have been playing for over 50 years and I can no longer afford to shell out 1500.00+ for an ax. This IS the next best thing and it does get you in the sound ball park. I'm already looking for another Squire to get the vintage 50's/60's for that mellow woody sound.
